North East Public Health Observatory

The network of Public Health Observatories in England launched two products on 7 Dec 2011: the revised National General Practice Profiles tool, and updated Disease Prevalence Estimates. The prevalence estimates are included for the first time as indicators within the profiles tool, and are also provided as a standalone product for further uses.

The Office for National Statistics produced updated life expectancy figures on 19th October 2011. NEPHO have produced a brief summary of the results for the North East.

Health Profiles give a snapshot overview of health for each local authority in England, showing how the area compares to the national and regional average. They are produced annually by the Public Health Observatories in England and commissioned by the Department of Health.

The new NEPHO analytical team subsite aims to share the knowledge and experience of our analysts with the wider health community, and to be a one-stop-shop for finding datasets, learning about meetings, and accessing other sites of interest.
