Public Health England has been established to protect and improve the nation’s health and wellbeing and to reduce inequalities. It will lead on the development of a 21st-century health and wellbeing service, supporting local authorities and the NHS to deliver the greatest possible improvements in public health.
This is a legacy website containing content from the North East Public Health Observatory, now part of Public Health England's Knowledge and Intelligence Team (Northern and Yorkshire). Existing tools and legacy information will continue to be available here, but new information will be published on the Public Health England website and data portal.

Community Mental Health Profiles 2013
The Community Mental Health Profiles is an open access tool showing a profile of key mental health indicators for each Local Authority in England. It is used to help commissioners, providers, also service users at a local, regional, and national level to compare patterns of mental health needs in their area. Data can be explored using a web tool or downloaded as a PDF for each area.
