On the State of Public Health: Annual Report of the Chief Medical Officer 2005
The Chief Medical Officer, Professor Sir Liam Donaldson, has published his Annual Report for 2005. The report highlights the health challenges facing the UK and outlines progress made against key actions identified in his Annual Report 2004.
Five main topic areas are covered as follows: inappropriate variation in clinical practice, the protection of public health budgets and infrastructure, patient safety, Kernicterus - a rare but devastating disease affecting babies, and planning for a possible flu pandemic.
