Monitoring maternal and child health in the North East and North Cumbria

  • The Regional Maternity Office (RMSO) manages a number of linked surveys relating to pregnancy and child health for the North East and North Cumbria.
  • The RMSO supports PCTs, SHAs, NHS Trusts and lo-cal universities to undertake audit, research and benchmarking of outcomes based on survey data for the local population.
  • Each year key findings, current issues and a summary of research undertaken using each of the surveys is presented at annual meetings (attended by about 500 professionals and carers) and in the annual report.
  • The RMSO website contains up to date information on maternal and infant health for professionals (www.rmso.org.uk).
