Obesity Prescribing Trends in the North East: 2010 update
Obesity is a serious and growing public health problem in the North East. National and regional guidance support the use of pharmaceutical interventions where appropriate. The number of obesity prescriptions has increased over time. Whilst differences exist between weighted prescribing rates across the North East PCTs, these are not statistically significant.
This occasional paper was written in collaboration with the regional drug and therapeutic centre and provides an overview of obesity prescribing trends across the North East. The paper examines changes in obesity prescribing over time and between PCTs.
