Introduction
The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 mandated Primary Care Trusts and local authorities to produce a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) of the health and wellbeing of their local community.This requires assessment of the current and future health and wellbeing needs of a population in order to improve outcomes and reductions in health inequalities. Since 2007, all areas in the North East have produced at least one JSNA report (links below).
